Things I’ve done in the last 24 hours, version 2.0

Since the demise of the old thread I’ll start its replacement.

So I’ll start. What have I done today.
Well b** all actually, being laid up with old man’s issues of buqqered up Achilles tendon and some sort of muscular cramps in my lower right abdomen.
OTOH, spent a happy hour pottering in the garden “ walking the cat”; in this case Jasmine on a lead, much like I used to do with Zebedee.

We spent the day trying to make friends with the cat after her emergency bath……worked for me, the culprit hoomans are under observation.
Mum had a fall in the care home…….broke her hip, operated on this morning……coming up to 91🤞🏽

Good news about the cat.
Best wishes to your mum.

I’ve just watched Carry on Loving (not really, it just sprang to mind) and inspired by true love have decided to set up an animal dating site/app.

My AI algorithms have already detected a preliminary match with @Count.d 's Mo - naturally I don’t know Mo or Jasmine’s hobbies/tastes/preferences for a date etc :grinning:

It’s been one of those weeks…

(Sorry for originally mentioning Zebedee).

I’m pretty sure that Mo is still going strong; I think the Count posted a picture a couple of months ago.

I do hope no one is going to the Frankie Howerd fan club convention next week

I’m referencing a nice pic of Mo rolling around on a few slabs the Count has laid in preparation for a new garden plant or feature in the gardening thread a few days ago. I commented that Mo looks like he(?) needs a pal to play with :slightly_smiling_face:

Why, won’t he be there?

Sorry to hear that, rotten luck but so common with falls in the elderly.

I started my day being woken up by Sakli. A few minutes later, Latika came in the meowed at me, reminding me not to fall back to sleep and to get them breakfast. Felines can be very demanding.
Mid morning, I left the builder to finish doing the building work needed for my replacement lean to be erected, whilst I went for a walk along the cliff tops and then back along the prom. Then I started on making a batch of soup, one portion for a late lunch and 6 portions for the freezer.
This afternoon, I started searching for new building and content insurance after my current company increased it by around 120%. I also sat in the sun with a book after doing a bit of pottering around in the garden.
This evening, I fed the management team and then cooked my dinner.

I’ve had a mixed day.
Normal texts from Sarah in hospital this morning before physio, then another to say she had been able to walk to the toilet. A huge milestone, both physically and mentally. Picked up Ben and went to see her. Went to the garden and sat in the sun, obviously tired, all that physio and therapy is hard. But it is a major physical and mental stage reached. Spoke to the physio and he said her determination was key. All staff referring now to her rehab at Blackheath in a couple of weeks time in the BMI hospital. Own room, better food, but no parking.
Then I get a call asking me to go in for a biopsy on Monday after my prostate MRI. Bit of a bringdown after the good news.

A slow start. Lunch at Cafe Raimund; afternoon wandering the Museum Quarter before a couple of hours in the Leopold.

Having done a 2km swim on Tuesday, followed it up with a 1,600 metre swim this afternoon…

Great news about Sarah’s progress.

Not what you wanted to hear about the biopsy but the MRI will at least direct them to areas of potential concern which will be better than rather random ones done not that long ago. Really sounds as though your own investigations are happening rapidly which is excellent.

Thanks for that, I could’ve done without the additional stress. But it is what it is.

That is really good, I take it you must have been a swimmer in the past.

You’ll also get it out of the way before she gets home I suspect, so in that sense it’s good utilisation of your time if that makes sense.

Never did it competitively or been a club member, but have enjoyed swimming since I first jumped in at the deep end aged two!

It is a really good way to keep fit and is gentle on your joints.

Love being near water, used to dinghy sail and last year tried body boarding with the encouragement of my great niece…
