It would be lovely to say that the wheel bearing replacement went well but it didn’t. 
After fitting the stub axle the bearing was trashed. Because the stub axle is essentially larger then the hole it fits in (interference fit) it pulls the bearing apart. And left a cup stuck on the bloody stub axle.
Luckily I’d bought more than one new bearing so took a different approach by removing the cups first and reusing the one still attached to the stub axle. Pressed it all together but play remained until I tightened the hub nut up to 350lb/ft
It’s fingers crossed for the moment but there is no obvious play or noise (Mrs Guinnless has to do the noise check for me).
The special tools that Ford list for this job are not available from anywhere.

Went to see my granddaughters (12 & 7) perform a piece of dance together at their dance school end of year show.
They did several routines and confidence has grown immeasurably for both of them.
However, their dance together was both beautiful and moving….well I would say that wouldn’t I, but the comments from behind confirmed it for me.
A special few minutes and a piece I won’t forget.

Testing DIY ‘project solar’ today. Everything seems to work. The panels are not in the proper position until the bolts for the brackets arrive.

Yesterday was the open day of “The Vale Wildlife Hospital” where my wife volunteers. I hadn’t been for a number of years and it is an impressive set up to see. A huge turnout helps to raise funds. It costs £75K a month to run, with employed Vets, staff and volunteers.
They have an influx of Hedgehogs at the moment as it is difficult for them in really hot weather and mothers are abandoning their young. Putting water (and food ) out is helpful.

A weird old day but most productive so far.
Resumed rehab physio for the first time in 6 weeks post my 2nd episode of alleged Bursitis. I usually rotate exercises but felt decent enough to do a 2 mile walk and all 3 of my usual stuff. Kind of expecting a reaction but thus far nothing.
Spent 90 minutes in a remote meeting with the offspring and the offspring’s college re: their formal complaint about 4 fellow students. Exceeded expectations in adherence to process and objectivity. Impressed and we can put that to one side now until August.
Dealing with yet more incompetence with DWP and HMCTS. Asking them to issue Directions but may well have to send a pre action letter. Once that’s done I’ll be heading to the shade in the garden and some serious reading.

Might have missed an earlier post, but what did you buy? One of those items authorised for sale in Aldi/Lidl etc a few months ago?

No it’s not a supermarket kit.
I bought a Fox inverter and a couple of Trina panels. These will be mounted on the side of my garage. A third one will be ordered once the others are sorted.
The inverter is wired into the garage consumer unit on the unused side of the split load with 4mm T+E. Standard 30ma RCDs are in place.
I did all the washing and dishwasher run this morning on solar power 
I intend to develop it but in small stages possibly ending up with a battery. But for now I shouldn’t have any issue with recouping 500 quid. 650 with the third panel.

Sat outside the National Theatre, with the tennis on a big screen.
Twenty five minutes till Pride (musical) kicks off, very much looking forward to it.
I remember being in San Francisco and staying at the iconic Hyatt Regency getting up on Saturday morning and walking the length of Market Street to Tower Records. You’ll pass through some exotic neighbourhoods said the concierge.
Thinking about it every time I was on a business trip my main priority was where were the record shops.
I remember going to Tower Records in Tel Aviv, Shibiya, Dublin where they had two stores,New York when they were at 4th and Broadway which was almost a no go zone and London of course.

I remember the Tower in that mall in Tel Aviv. Bought a Hank Mobley CD there. I think I heard that some years after my visit it had been bombed.
My favourite Tower was the one on Sunset Boulevard. The Broadway one in NY was good too, not far from a very good Sam Goody’s.

A morning out at the Museum Of Illusion in Manchester with the tiny terrorist. Given that I’ve no 3D vision and limited depth perception I was pretty pleased that the majority of the concave/convex stuff worked for me. Not always the case. Only takes an hour to get around but actually pretty good. That said, had we paid full price for 5 of us I couldn’t in all conscience recommend. With a child under 4 and 2 carer concessions it was definitely worth it.
Toilets a bit odd. Up 2 steps to gents and ladies and then accessible hidden around the corner. Up 2 steps though…
Still, all told, better than the Sports Direct it used to be.
Now sat in the shade at the bottom end of the garden about to read a couple of monthly mags on my iPad Pro.
@Filipe you’ll love this one. In my executor role I am liquidating some of the assets - being my stepfather’s car which we needed to sell as the insurance, MOT and tax were looming.
A friend of the family paid the going rate. He’s a Pop Larkin character and wanted to pay cash.
Yesterday with a rucksack full of cash and a signed receipt I headed off to HSBC. Now both Stantander and Barclays at the drop of a hat closed my stepfather’s accounts and transferred the cash to my personal HSBC account.
But HSBC point blank refused to allow me to put the money in my account saying I had to set up an Executors Account. I explained I was capable of accounting for the monies under the will (in my spreadsheet) and there was no legal requirement for me to have an Executor Account.
But despite arguing my case they wouldn’t wear it. So now I have a stack of cash and according to HSBC complaints section the branch decision can’t be changed.
End result I am going to have to divy up the cash amongst the family and then they can transfer it to me. Total waste of time.
I’m not going through the bollocks of setting up another account. You just couldn’t make it up.

Well I am not surprised and that is what I have done in the past. Once you have obtained probate you may find that you can request payments be made to beneficiaries without putting the money in an executors account. You will find that you are not dealing with the local branch but people who mostly deal with the deceased. The big benefit of using the right bank account is that you have evidence!
It’s not worth fighting it!

When our mum died in 2011, Sis & I set up an “Executors” account. It is still extant. Her house was never sold as our brother is still living there.
I put a quid into the account every year in order to maintain it’s “active” status
