Sadly I find it necessary to be in attendance to supervise and ensure that it’s done correctly and completely.

Do you have shares in a legal company specialising in divorce?
Evening out listening to Kevin Rowland in conversation having picked up a signed copy of his autobiography. Clearly an extraordinary book but the event was rather spoilt by the interviewer, Ian Prowse (ex of Pele for anyone who remembers them) who was far too in love with the sound of his own voice and his own hero worship.
Awful awful interviewer to the extent that Kevin looked visibly irritated that he sometimes couldn’t get a word in edyeways and even when he did there were constant interjections. Kevin had to constantly correct his impressions of what he’d read in the book. Made a fool of himself really.
Even used the audience Q&A to just carry on making his own statements and his own questions. Clearly irritated several of us by claiming the questions we’d submitted in advance as his own. Topped it off by refusing to ask more audience questions, when Kevin requested more, on the basis that he “wouldn’t want to answer them anyway”. A first class unprofessional performance.
When allowed to speak Kevin was funny, surprising and reflective.
We finally had our 2 air con units fitted yesterday, very neat job. They are whisper quiet inside and outside, you have to be standing next to the outside unit to tell that it is running. Should have done this years ago.
We have a couple of Fujitsu A/C unit in the conservatories. Great in this weather, but it also means that we can use them all year round. Indeed the front conservatory is my office, from where I’m typing this post ![]()
And yes, the A/C here is on…but I’m about to move to the rear conservatory , so I’ll shut down the front and start up the back!
Well the Feliks valve amp has to go back to either Poland or Scotland for identification of whatever ails it.
Given that it was purchased as a part ex with my Naim gear and yet 8 months down the line I’ve not really been pushed for the Naim gear I decided that it was time to properly box the Naim stuff so they could take 4 boxes at once. Very satisfying to finally clear the floor space of random boxes, packaging etc.
Very nice.
Do you intend to use them for heating in the winter?
Phil
On a short forest break.
Up late after everyone in the early hours. Had the nibbles and went for crackers and brie.
What a bizarre thing to crack part of a molar on
.
Chilling with the BeeGees in lo- fi in the hot tub😎
Sue & I have both cracked molars on… nachos!
I think this is what we call a heat pump, that heats or cools. Here air conditioning is ceiling units that are multi-directional and can be interconnected as a full system. There might be a technological difference, I’m not sure. We have 3 heats pump, the 2 bedroom ones are newer and run of a single external unit, the older one in our lounge has a seperate outdoor unit.
We are using them for heating now in winter - mostly the mornings, as we have a fire in the evenings (or all day if it’s grim). In summer our house is a bit of a glass house and will get to 35° on a fine day, so the girls need cooling off. I like the heat.
Bought a Nemox gelato maker today.
Went up to the dude. He is about to sell his house.
Now, 02:45 it is hot!
Yes, we have a cheap rate from 12 til 5 am, so will use them to heat then.
Yes, they are air to air heat pumps.
I have had a letter about the Metal Box scan on the brain . A lot of questions including my tattoos .
I don’t have any, does this mean I have to get some ?
In the mean time
Fun day of writing emails.
Setting up a Zoom appointment to interview a potential charity trustee to replace me.
Thanking my MPs office for getting my ESA finally stopped but pointing out that ESA have produced not one but two cessation dates and both are wrong and essentially random.
Writing to HMCTS to point out that the date for DWP to produce PIP appeal papers has now expired. Makes no material difference at this point as I’ll be lucky to be listed before 2026 but it’s good to stay totally on top of it and not give them an inch.
Starting the process whereby all my Naim gear is finally collected as part ex for my Feliks 300B and the amp itself is collected for investigation/repair.
With a bit of luck I’ll get all this done in sufficient time to spend some time with this months Uncut magazine before, thunder storms permitting, I power up the amp and catch up on some TV for the first time in a fortnight.
Tax return.
Well done! Doing this sort of stuff makes you feel better.
It certainly does, I enjoyed it. There was a good tube video on it, which was handy. Though I do treat a lot of those diy videos on there with a degree of suspicion!
However when it comes to hifi I will leave that to the experts!
That looks very neat. Do you have a multisplit system or are they separate?
We had a single unit installed in our conservatory a few years ago and I’m starting to regret not having a multisplit capable system so I could add more units.
With our heating system not capable of being easily converted to a heat pump (microbore and small radiators) I’m thinking that a few of these units would be really good for most of the year. Main focus for us is heating rather than cooling.
