I have noticed my Tidal charts have stopped counting the streams I play on my Naim devices (the majority of my listening for obvious reasons) when they calculate my monthly charts.
This is regardless whether I steam though the Naim App (linked to Tidal) or via Tidal connect and what Naim device (I have a few) I stream Tidal too. Now if I play Tidal on any other device, (i.e phone or PC it recognises) the stream and scrobes accordingly which leads me to believe its a newish issue which Naim. I say newish issue as I noticed this happening around December but wasnt too concerned as while I like to see accurate charts I just tend to enjoy the music. However, it has dawned on me my listened too artists arent picking up their rightful commission every time I steam Tidal on to my Naim devices⌠which bugs me. Is this happening to others? What could I be doing wrong?
Examples of Nov when it worked properly and this month where it has just picked up my phone steamsâŚ
Iâm from London and this was all working perfectly until Decembers charts. Iâm inclined to think its more of an issue with Naim as Tidal recognises all more other streams - ie via my phone, pc or dap⌠But since December nothing has been recorded with my atom, atom he or muso2âŚ
Was hoping posting on the Naim message board would confirm my instinct, perhaps others have already noticed this? Or if others could help out and recreate the issue/help rule it out.
Does it work for others? Or is this just my problem? Happy to raise it with Tidal as clearly they are underpaying my artists at the moment!
That hadnât occured to me. If Tidal arenât counting my streams via other devices for âMy most listened toâŚâ, maybe theyâre not counting them for the artists benefits either?
I hope they do since they are keeping records about the streamed items e.g. in the recently played section of the app (also items played by using the connect feature are shown).
Martin it seems the word scrabble accepts it as a word, but it isnât found in all dictionaries, although it seems the word is âscrobbleâ.
One definition given on a web search for the word âscrobbleâ states â the process of tracking and recording a userâs music listening historyâ.
The more likely wording would be, âthe scrobble count on my Tidal account, is not updatingâ; ymmv!
In short, âscrobbleâ is just the word that Last.fm uses to describe how it automatically tracks what music you listen to, and when** . The act of tracking your music with Last.fm is called âscrobbling,â and apps that connect to Last.fm are sometimes called âscrobblers.â
