Tumble Dryers

Mrs Willy is a great advocate of baking clothes in a tumble dryer. I’ve a separate laundry bag and use a clothes horse located in the guest room but moved into the living room of an evening where the log burner has been fired up. I find that clothes last longer when dried this way. Also I don’t waste half of each day shoehorning my feet into a pair of “micro” socks.

Baking is the problem isn’t it.

The more expensive dryers monitor the moisture level and stop before your socks are baked to a crisp.

Obviously drying clothes outside is nicer. But not easy in the Yorkshire climate

Yorkshire ‘Tumble Dryer’ choices, dependant upon weather/required drying time:

Outside Washing line (if not raining)
Clothes airer (ceiling mounted pulley)
Clothes horse/Drying rack in front of Aga or Log Burner/Coal fire
Clothes directly placed on the Aga
