Eeek !!!
Sorry @frenchrooster, my post was meant for @Aram, regarding his post on Spicas
Typing on the phone can be difficult at times !!
Ah ok, thanks for saying that. I was even surprised you have heard them, as they are very confidential speakers, not sure they are sold in UK.
All clear now.
Dark Vador speakers
Avalon Tesaract - 820 k
ISIS is the first full range loudspeaker in history to utilize proprietary neodymium magnetic technologies in all drive units, coupled to inert diaphragm materials of Nomex/Kevlar, Ceramic throughout with custom- smelted precious metal conductors. Multiple layering and material usage in there legendary cabinet construction eliminates the characteristic sonic signature of any â single materialâ design.
Disbelief is the only word that comes to my mind.
If they are tweeters, then because of the stiff suspensions, theyâll roll off relatively quickly in the midrange and wonât produce any significant bass.
However a larger number of small full range drive units CAN produce adequate bass
⌠and with a price tag way above the means of a simple teacher like me !!!
No teacher is simpleâŚ
Unconventional speker design is one thing, but AI imagineering is quite anotherâŚ
I wonât argue that itâs ugly (it is), but is it really that much uglier than the two in the top image? Iâm not sure.
Well most of the speakers here are vulgar. But that one is just ugly lol.
I saw a video on YouTube on the making of usher speakers, bloody bell a bit rough for such expensive speakers.
Boenicke W22 would certainly be on my list of unconventional speaker designs:
The sound? Never heard anything that good in my life yet.
âŚonly his salary !!!
When you say âlarger numberâ how many are we talking?
Sorry, couldnât resist posting Mitchâs behemoths 8)
Theyâre a great speaker. The faulty one should be repairableâŚ
How long is a piece of string? I think that to have any chance of assessing it would be necessary to be specific about what drivers⌠However I think the bass would be much diminished relative to the sound level of the range normal to the driver, requiring very high power with filter drastically cutting of the midrange to be in balance.
Sorry, that was meant to be a humorous reference to the speakers Mitch runs, with many tens of drivers. It wasnât meant to be a serious question.
