Uniqute 2 spotify lossless

I have previously used tidal lossless without issue. But spotify refuses to accept lossless.

The naim focal app does not have an option to unlink spotify. I have re installed it and spotify and also checked i have 4.9 firmware.

Any advice please. It should support lossless and the naim app is set to extreme under quality for spotify.

UQ2 can’t support Spotify Lossless.

Is it possible to use a 3rd party unit with pass through . I was looking at the WiiM Mini AirPlay 2 which can output digital via optical.

Yes of course, you can plug in anything you like via the rear digital inputs.

Will this be effectively using the naim to decode or do you know if this does not allow an underrated signal from spotify to reach the naim unit.

There seem conflicting views

The uq2 would be the dac, when connected by optical or spdif output from another device.

No conflicting views. The dac inside your Uniti will decode hires, but the streaming platform will not support Lossless Spotify.

Ignore above; I don’t think he’s picked up on the use case of adding a second streaming device.

The wiim mini supports lossless Spotify, so that will come out of the back of the wiim via optical/spdif and into the uq2. The uq2 doesn’t know the origin of the music, it’s just a lossless hires audio signal that it will process.

Adding the wiim means you also get qobuz, deezer, Amazon music and any other streaming service supported by wiim.

Thanks that’s what i thought. What is want to avoid is the wiim dac processing the lossless signal from spotifi.

If its processed by the wiim I might as well stick with the lower level decoding by spotifi connect native one the uniqute2. I understand naim will not be upgrading it to allow spotifi flac
