Hi all, new to the community, though been on Naim components for a couple of decades. I’ve had a Uniti Core for about 5 years and over the last few weeks noticed the app was slow in finding the Core (especially if I went to it while it was playing music). My solution initially was to swipe out of the app and come back and the Core would then be found. This last week though, it stopped finding the Core all together. Now when I open the Naim app, it shows me “My Devices” and there is nothing else on the screen - except Settings and Questions. Clearly, the app cannot see the Uniti. I’ve rebooted everything and done a hard shutdown of the Core and also used another device (iPad) to no avail.
Many thanks
I suspect this is a network problem. Can you see whether your Core has an IP lease from your router? You can use a free app like Fing to scan your network if necessary.
The way the app sees the Core is via WiFi from your phone to your router and then via Ethernet to your Core. Usually these discovery problems turn out to be that the phone latches into the wrong WiFi network or that the WiFi network and the Ethernet network are not properly connected.
One thing you should try first though is to turn everything off, including your router, then turn the power back on to the router and wait until it has come fully back on line, then plug the Core back into the mains power and once that is back, restart your Naim app.
Thanks Dave. I tried those exact steps and same result. I installed the Fing app and no Uniti on the network. I just recently had another network issue that was resolved with rebooting the extender and things came back. But this time I think it’s more convoluted.
Appreciate the help
Ah well you didn’t say there was an extender! That is exactly where I would look for the issue. Sometimes these things start happening after a firmware update in a piece of networking equipment when the owner was unaware that there had been any such update.
All seems to be ok with the extender - which I shut down, rebooted, etc. I have an email in to Duncan at Naim. I’m curious what he suggests?
Thanks
