Ah, hadn’t realised about the integrated cable.
This pic is pinched from aqvox.de and shows the arrangement for an RB300, I assume the recent arms are much the same.
I had a plan to modify my old rega by moving the black internal ground wire to the terminal with the metal strip, cutting the track between that and the blue wire’s terminal and adding a separate ground wire. This plan is on the same back burner as my Lenco 75 and has been there for at least 10 years but one day it might happen. It’s meant to make the rega sound less grey. I bought an Aro instead so any urgency went away.
