Uniti Nova input problems

Hi all, I seem to be having input issues with my Nova. I was starting to watch a film and was having lipsync issues over HDMI. After turning everything off and back on again I lost all sound via HDMI. All TV output settings are correct. Decided to try an optical connection, but no sound. Tried a different cable, no sound. Connected optical cable to the cd player to check it was ok, and no sound. The input screen suggested a signal was coming in though. Tried the analogue input for the turntable, no sound. This was working earlier. Internet radio, all good - as it has been all day.

How likely is it that all the physical digital and analogue inputs have failed? Is it more likely to be a software issue?

I’ve powered the nova down and switched off at the wall. I’ll leave it overnight and see if things are ok in the morning.

I suggest you try a reset,

Since you quote me, I never did get an answer for my question.

My experience, however, is that the soft reset works better.

Hi, I’m trying a soft reset. The logo is illuminated and the light under the volume wheel is pulsing. How long should this go on for? Been around half an hour so far. Thanks again.

I got there. Decided to kill the power and turn back on again. All up and running ok.

I generally find resetting the Nova to be an unnerving experience.

And I always find that at some point I need to turn it off and on.

Yes, very unnerving. I’m sidelining hdmi for the time being and going optical for TV audio. I’ve had to reset the Nova twice now, and I suspect hdmi handshake issues might be the cause. Cheers for now. Aidan
