I have a Uniti Nova and connect to a Sony A80L tv and Apple TV 4K via HDMI. External speakers are Focal Kanta 2. All is well when streaming from Tidal tv app but when I switch to a Wi-Fi source, say from my iPad, casting to the Nova, then switch back to a tv source, I get no audio. The only fix so far, is to pull power from the Naim. Once it boots up, audio is restored. This can’t be normal operation. Any suggestions for a fix?

Welcome. HDMI can be tricky from a TV depending on how you have the auto-switching set up. Unless you really want HDMI, I’d just run an optical output from your TV to the Nova and that should work fine.

This could be an HDMI HDCP hand-shaking issue. HDMI is notorious for such issues as nobody seems to stick to a set protocol and any TV firmware changes tend to muck things up. Try contacting Naim support to see whether they have any solution here, otherwise you may have a better time using the S/PDIF optical.
