My understanding is to completely power down my Star, I press the Power button on the unit for a few seconds and it should shut down.
I’ve tried this multiple times and it doesn’t work - nothing happens.
I’ve had my entire face plate replaced a few months ago, and tried doing the full Power down shortly after I received it so is there a newer method to fully power down that perhaps I’m unaware of?
Deep sleep is what I’m trying to do, yes. Is there a visibly obvious signal that it’s going into deep sleep because it doesn’t look like anything changes when I press the power button on the unit for a few seconds.
When in deep sleep mode, Naim devices do not show up in the Naim app, pressing the power button will bring the device out of deep sleep mode and it once again be recognised and displayed in the Naim app - try it and see for yourself.
It sounds as if you are expecting the power light to go off in deep sleep mode. It doesn’t.
There is no obvious sign that the unit is going into deep sleep (after Holding down the power button for about 3 seconds if I remember correctly).
You can tell that the unit is in deep sleep by the fact that it doesn’t respond to the remote control. To bring it out of deep sleep you must press the power button on the unit itself.
When in deep sleep the power light remains on & the only way to turn it off is, as an earlier poster has already said, to unplug it from the mains power supply. You should hardly ever need to do this.
As I said in my previous reply, this is for a Nova but I doubt a Star is any different.
