Uniti Star CD Ripping

Hi ChrisSU really grateful for you advice about the local music area on the app, everything is there with artwork included, a great simple solution and thanks once again, last question I promise is what is the maximum size memory card that might work, I only used the 32GB as a test as that was recommended, many thanks to all

I believe that 32GB is the max. That’s why i bought a 1TB usb drive. But the Star refuses to recognise it after rippen nine cd’s to it.

One other option i can think of, is to try and plug my USB drive into my Zyxcel router as a network storage area. But as Zyxcel states that it needs to be formated as a FAT drive, i am not sure whether the Star will be able to read it then…

sorry I disagree. I’ve added several albums that were ripped on my Pc direct to,the SSD. You have to sometimes edit using MP3tag or similar adding track numbers etc depending how they ripped.

I’ve also added songs I’ve ripped from YouTube. It takes a while for album art to appear

Hi did you try what I did suggested by ChrisSU on the app to see if the music is there

Yeah if i ckeck it on my laptop, the files are there, but on my uniti start they are not at times…

And i must say, injustnsucc succesfully Re-inserted the usb Drive and i still think there is serious audible diffence in sound quality between playback from the cd versus the Star ripped FLAC playback

Now that I have the albums on my memory stick and can play them from the Naim app is there anyway to delete individual songs I don’t like

Have you*’re indexed the database from the app*

Use a pc

It’s been a while since I used a Star, and that was just during a home demo for a few weeks, so I can’t claim to know it that well. Still, I’ve never come across a manuracturers recommended memory size limit that couldn’t be exceeded. I’m pretty sure the limit is based on little more than the maximum size they may have used for testing. There will also be practical limits based on how long it might take to scan a large library.

I suspect that a USB drive is likely to be the best option rather than an SD card. I used a cheap 1TB HDD and it was fine.
