Hello! Could you please tell me how long it takes for Uniti Star to automatically enter deep sleep mode?
You can set the time before going into network standby in the app. It will only go into deep sleep if you press the power button for three seconds. Once in deep sleep it is not discoverable on the network and you must switch it on via power button.
Thanks, I know. But if I turn off the server mode, the machine goes into deep sleep after a few hours of waiting. Is this a malfunction?
I’m no expert on server mode, however if the unit is not in server mode it should go into network standby after the preset time, or if you put it into standby using a quick press of the button or remote, or via the app. It would not normally go into deep sleep without the three second button press. What makes you believe it’s going into deep sleep by itself?
This happens every day when the device is in standby mode. After about 3 hours.
Are you 100% sure it’s in deep sleep? What exactly happens when you give the power button a quick press? Does it spring back into life, or does the volume ring flash on and off and a picture of the Statement heat sinks appear, before going to the inputs screen, a process that takes a minute or more?
I turn on the remote control. The ring is blinking. The device will not turn on. The device does not see the application. I turn it on with the button on the device. The screen is loading (about a minute). The CD is being uploaded.
It’s the same as if I manually put it into deep sleep for 5 seconds by pressing a button.
There is no correct way for the Star to go into Deep Sleep mode automatically. If that’s what’s happening is seems that your unit may be faulty. I would call your dealer or Naim support and see if they can resolve the issue.
Hmm, it’s certainly going into deep sleep, which it shouldn’t do by itself. The only thing I don’t follow is your comment ‘the CD being uploaded’. It may be worth removing the CD before putting it into network standby and then seeing if it still enters deep sleep. If it does, Naim’s technical support are your friends.
Hello! We’re still working on it. There’s no instruction)
Good morning! I understand correctly that the automatic transition to deep sleep is as it should be? The CD is always ejected by itself after the exit from deep sleep, or after the machine is turned on to the network.
The Star should not go into deep sleep automatically. It should only go into deep sleep following a long press on the front panel or remote.
Have you tried unplugging it for a while and then rebooting!
Yes, and a factory reset.
Here’s what the Naim support team replied: Units going into a “Deep Sleep” mode is a function required o comply with EU laws regarding electrical devices and power consumption. Leaving the unit in “Server Mode” will prevent it from doing so, and keep the device visible on your network.
