Hi Tom here I have two uq2’s with the same error: fault 26 spdif rx fault, and no reaction on the remote.
No access via remote or app.
Any suggestions on how to resolve welcome….
I mis my Naim sound…

I’m sure @NeilS will have an idea here.
My “finger in the air” thought would be blown rectifying diodes, resulting in fusible PCB tracks opening in the power supply.
Regards
Neil.
@NeilS I guess that Tom may wonder why both UQ2s would have done this st the same time and can Naim fix them if he sends them back to you?
Failure of the S/PDIF receiver IC itself is rare.
Assuming both units failed at the same time, (and my theory is correct) it could have been a voltage spike on the mains.
Hopefully fixable though, depending on the extent of any PCB damage though.
All guess work at this stage though.
Regards
Neil.
I will investigate the supplies, my thoughts though were in th sw domain, on of the units responded briefly and bricked after turning on the dab, i noticed on bit bulging cap 330u/ 6.3 v
On the radio board, will do some more sleuthing
Thank you for your thoughts and replies
Hi is there a hw reset possible?
I probed around the spdif receiver all voltages seem ok
Why wouldn’t it start trough this error 26?
Thanks for your thoughts
Tom
You would normally do a factory reset using the remote control/front panel display menu. If you can’t currently access that, there is an alternative way using a sequence of button presses on the front panel: @NeilS would probably know.
That “bulging cap” might need sorting out though.
Tom, to keep the discussion within forum rules, it’s probably best to liaise with the factory directly re. service/repair work. I assume you are a service tech?
Would help to know your location too.
Martin
Hi people just a hobby enthosiast based in bergen nh the netherlands, have a lot of electronics experience though
Thx for your help and suggestions the kit is my own personal system
The point is though Tom that the forum rules do not allow us to discuss DIY repairs to Naim equipment, although the rule is often relaxed a bit if the equipment concerned is no longer supported by Naim. The UQ2 is still supported by Naim currently.
Got it, try the internet for resolution of my very expensive paperweights
No, try the local distributor (judging by your location, Latham Audio) or contact the Naim factory.
