Quite pleased with this little beauty, even with a dead screen which is no impediment whatsoever.
It’s powering Castle Compact Columns admirably. Cables are 12GA OFC copper, 2.5m.
It does run a good deal warmer than the 5italic I used previously… it was rarely more than room temperature.
Is this considered normal? It sits on my desktop, no restrictions on cooling whatsoever.
A UQ certainly runs warmer than room temp. I’d say body temp at 36C seems normal.
It’s the streaming board in the Qute that gets quite warm, whereas the 5i is just an amplifier.

My UQ1 has always been warm to the touch. Came back from service, new screen and updated streaming board like that too. I’d say perfectly normal in my experience.

My room is at 20 degC and the Qute in open space is at around 38 with the infrared. Not playing.
In tight environment without much aeration it can easily climb to the high forty.
(Got a dead screen too so I can’t check the status in the settings)

The DAC and streamer inside Qute, reason for warmth.
