Unity gain for NAC 82 AV

Recently purchased a NAC 82 to replace a 102 and realised that it does not have unity gain on the AV input. Is it possible to get unity gain on a input of a NAC 82 for linking to an AV System?

Don’t know, exactly. However my younger son-in-law has my old NAC52, and that doesn’t have unity gain. He does (as I used to) set the volume control to 9 when using the AV input. You have to then set up your other AV settings (speaker distance, volume settings etc). Then if you use another input, remember to always put the NAC volume control back to where it was when you previously watched a DVD etc.

You could ask Naim if there is any other way, but I doubt it.

Is there is an “AV input” on an 82?

I have an 82 and do exactly the same with mv AV amp using the Aux input and then the AV amp does the rest …

Back in my day Naim could convert one of the tape in/outs to a Unity Gain AV input. You could enquire with your Naim dealer as to whether this is still offered. Or perhaps @NeilS might know?

Yes, we can still do this. It would be a modification to input 6.

Regards
Neil.
