When I first used my Unity Star it was on firmware 3.10 and if I recall correct showed the Album cover art when playing cd. Now it’s on 3.11 and the album art does not show anymore. I don’t play cd’s that often, So I just noticed it last week.
Am I making things up or is there a bug?
This may be related to the current Core metadata lookup issue…..

@Osiris Thanks you for your redaction. I did some further investigation in the forum and contacted Naim Support. On their request I did several other tests. They will look into the results in the upcoming period.
Hi, Martin, my Star is Version 3.11 too, and doesn’t show show any details of CD playing, other though it does show cover images on playback of the ripped album, whenever it can find it.
Metadata search is feeble, unable to locate album covers of recent issues, occasionally on fairly well known albums, and rarely of compilations. Fortunately the app on my tablet does a much better job.
However I console myself with the quality of the playback, whether CD or rip.
@geoff_2043 Good to know I’m not the only one. My experiences coincide with yours. And I agree with you that the sound is great. Although I’m under the impression that that bass was a bit tighter with 3.10.
I don’t think cover art is shown if you play a CD, only if you are streaming a ripped CD or from the web. That’s how mine has always been.

I can’t recall that much detail, Martin, particularly after a change of speakers. I’m still adjusting things, but almost there.
Star never did show Album covers on cd, only when streaming, 100% shure on this one.
Never shows artwork if just playing.
If. I’ve ripped a CD and no tracks or Art comes up I just add it from the CD. Take a photo of the cover and add.
You can do it in the app initially quite easily. After that I use the PCand appropriate programme.
I consulted my dealer today. He could still remember our demo and it appears that I mixed up to different devices and the Star indeed doesn’t show the album art when playing a cd. My bad.
It’s during the ripping process that an online database is searched for metadata, including artwork. That doesn’t happen during CD playback, so your findings are as expected.
