Does anyone know upgrade 250.2 to 250dr still available? Many thanks.
No, the DR upgrade for the old NAP250.2 was eventually suspended due to parts shortages that were impacting production. As the 250DR itself was discontinued over two years ago, I very much doubt that Naim will be able to offer it again in future.
Sadly, no factory upgrades are now available but there are plenty of 250DR on the used market you could get and then pass your 250-2 on. It is possible to bring any used 250 DR up to full spec via servicing at Naim or Class A (in the UK) and have a used unit performing like new if its getting on a bit.
I never liked the 250-2 as much as the earlier 250s, and the 250 DR is a significant upgrade that sounds very nice to me compared to the earlier black box non-DR version.
The last price of a 250 DR upgrade before it was discontinued was £1500. It’s now far more cost effective to buy a used 250DR and sell the 250.2.
