US Powerline use in UK

Need a bit of input on an idea I have. I’m moving from US back to the UK later this year. Darran has confirmed he can switch the boxes from 115V to 230V. I have 3x Naim Powerlines with the US plugs. I was thinking of switching out plug to be UK compatible on the AV Options power strip and then using that to convert from UK wall plug to US sockets on the strip in order to be able to keep using the Powerlines in the UK. Any input on whether this OK? I’m really hoping to not have to sell the Powerlines in the US and buy again in the UK. Cheer, Matthew

The selling and purchasing could be a hassle indeed; from a technical point this will surely work the way that you have suggested it.

It will work. The only issue i can see is that nothing plugged into the AV Options power strip will be independently fused. It may or may not be something your home insurance could be void if you needed to make a claim.

While it may be safe, it’s potentially not permitted as the UK requires each plug connect to a 230v supply to be fused. It’s possibly nonsense from the view that you could have all the leads hard wired together and that would be legal and compliant (like a Hydra) but that’s beside the point. You don’t want to do anything non compliant.

I’d suggest seeing if Naim will refit them with UK PowerLine plugs. If not, You could fit them with UK Furutech plugs.
