Is anybody uses audiophile grade USB cables? I am looking at Silver or Black Dragon to connect my SSD to my Atom Uniti HE. Any ideas? Thanks
I don’t think audio grade USB cables have an impact on connecting a hard drive. They are meant for connecting a computer or a streamer to a DAC, where the power supply and internals of the computer have an impact on the electrical signal that runs over the cable.
With an SSD, the low power is delivered from the Atom and the internals are not noisy enough to have a significant impact on the data signal back. It is an interesting experiment to see if different cables have an audible effect, but only if you can lend the cables and you can return them if it doesn’t.
