Using a sub with Nova + 250.2

High level connections are a perfectly valid way to connect a sub. Some manufacturers (Naim and Rel for example) recommend them, although the low level connection on a Nova should be fine as well.

As said, and as stated in the thread title, I’m using a Nova and 250.2.

Nah maybe 10-20 years ago, most new REL subs don’t even have speaker binding posts. :wink:

Indeed. Richard Lord, the man behind REL, was a great proponent of the high level connection for music, on the basis that it gave much better integration than using a pre-out connection.

Naim gave you both options with the n-Sub (in fact three options if you also include the .1 connection for HT), and here the pre-out connection could work quite well as the amp was based upon the NAP250 so integrated well anyway. However, in most cases high level connection was still preferred overall for music.
