Good Evening All,
I use Bridgedale Summits all year round - still available but, I think, no longer manufactured. Wouldn’t be without them.
Regards
Richard

Scarpa Evo fall somewhere between the ‘all leather’ and ‘trainer’ extremes of walking boot. I don’t know if they would work for you, but might be worth a look if you’ve not seen them.
Yup, SmartWool
It sounds like you may benefit from a podiatrist to get some decent orthotics. I have feet like a duck and the extra arch support and pronation angle correction have really helped. I got through a 22 km hike with the orthotics and icebreaker medium thickness walking socks, no problem.
Bridgedale works better for us than most others
Layers of merino wool socks does it for me.
Thanks to all who responded. I now have a shortlist of products to check out…and, yes, I even favour thick socks in the warmer months.
