Warranty registration/duration again!@

From the Naim website;

For UK customers, Naim Audio offers an extended 3-year warranty on selected product lines (giving a total of 5 years warranty on the eligible product).

I have just noticed that all my product warranties have been reduced to 24 months, for the second time, no /longer showing the 60 month extended warranty offered in the UK, this in spite of having registered the products on purchase and subsequently re-registering them after Naim/Focal completely stuffed up the website some time ago.

All the hand wringing and pearl clasping ‘just reach out to Naim service with your proof of purchase’ etc. is all pretty pointless when circa 50% of the time emails solicit a null response.

A premium product is advertised with premium support, which this isn’t!

Just hopeless.

PS Registered products aren’t showing in the Naim App again!

It would appear from a thread a few days ago that Naim have said that there’s an issue with the online registration that requires attention. Obviously, if an item is registered then the extended warranty terms apply, just best not rely on the current info until it’s fixed. I’m down at the factory later this month for the spring forum visit and I will be addressing the issue with James when I’m there.

I’m told that the online product registration system should now be working properly again. Obviously, please let me know if you are still experiencing issues.

Warranties still showing as 24 months, omitting the UK 3 year extension :slightly_frowning_face:.

OK, I’ll let them know - it’s probably best to contact support here as there may be something specific with the registration that’s the problem.

I need to do the same. But what with the sale to Barco I’m considering my options.

Edit: Naim Support responded saying as long as you have your original registration email (which I have) then I’m fine with the extended warranty. I don’t think they will fix what is showing in the app though.

Richard, no rush, but could you potentially also clarify what the position ought to be when dealers offer ex-demo or returned ‘nearly new’ items warranty wise?

If a device has been on demo in a dealership for several years then sold I’d probably not expect a full/enhanced warranty but maybe it should be covered by the vendor or offered for a nominal fee? Equally if a returned virtually new pristine open box device is sold it would seem reasonably fair if it was not defective that the extended warranty could be transferable but this may not be the case and might prove a disincentive to purchase.

AC, warranty terms are here;

Note here:

Products sold as “Naim Approved Refurbished” are eligible for warranty:

Product Type Warranty Duration
Mu-so (2nd Generation) 1 year
Uniti, Classic, New Classic, 500 Series 2 years

Warranty begins from the date of purchase and is transferable within the warranty period. Third-party refurbished or second-hand products are not covered.

Any warranty contract is made between the selling dealer and the customer, so I would guess that a dealer can offer whatever warranty they see fit on anything that’s been on demo - they of course will be underwriting it though outside of the 2 year initial warranty period.

Thank you, that’s very helpful.

Just looked on the App, none of my products are registered although I’ve registered them twice now. Suggests the ‘problem’ isn’t fixed? When I registered the 2nd time Naim told me they had my original registration so no need to worry. Is that still the case I wonder?

Question - do we need to register for a third time?

The first link suggests products need to be registered within 6 months for extended warranties (for qualifying products). The second suggests 3 months.

So I see… I would assume 3 months here but I’ll clarify with Naim
