Thelonious Monk - Misterioso

I love the angularity of Monk’s music. It’s so unpredictable, with unthinkable chord inversions, frequently changing direction, yet with such tight timekeeping. This one recorded August 1958 at the Five Spot Cafe, NYC.

On CD. This became a big hit on the 90’s and the 2nd movement has been overused in TV/film prodductions but the symphony still hangs together well as a whole imo.
