Andrea Bocelli - My Christmas (another wonderful Christmas album!)
All streamed on NAS… enjoyed some Christmas music with the wife this morning while having breakfast and then opening presents. A lovely lazy Christmas morning!
Streaming on NAS… sitting down and having a relaxing moment before heading out the door for a long walk with the wife over at the Arboretum which is located on the shores of Lake Washington. Its 230 acres and contain a dynamic assortment of plants, some found nowhere else in the Northwest. It is usually pretty empty on Christmas Day and a peaceful place to spend time getting some fresh air and enjoying the winter gardens.
Your welcome Chris, I found Anouar Brahem the same way, I believe it was a recommendation from @Haim a couple of years ago which ended up with me exploring his catalogue and making several album purchases along the way.
With the time difference, I hope you enjoyed your Christmas Day, it is just the noon hour here in Seattle.
What a superb double CD set this is, the genius of George Michel’s music with EX+ Sonic Q

Three years ago today George Michael died.
In the early hours of 25 December 2016, Michael died in bed at his home in Goring-on-Thames, aged 53. He was found by his Australian partner, Fadi Fawaz.
In March 2017, a senior coroner in Oxfordshire attributed Michael’s death to dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver disease.
Owing to the delay in determining the cause of death, Michael’s funeral was held 29 March 2017. In a private ceremony, he was buried at Highgate Cemetery in north London, near his mother’s grave. That summer an informal memorial garden was created outside his former home in Highgate. The site, in a private square that Michael had owned, is tended by fans
Esbjörn Svensson (piano), Dan Berglund (bass) and Magnus Öström (drums).
Streaming on TIDAL… a mention from @BertBird a few days ago in the ‘Album of the Year - 2019’ thread had me place this in the TIDAL queue. Returning home from a walk I thought it would be a nice moment to take it out for a spin. The opening track is sounding marvelous and looking forward to the rest of the album.
Branford Marsalis - In My Solitude: Live at Grace Cathedral
Branford Marsalis (Soprano, Tenor and Alto Saxophones).
Streaming on TIDAL… In the late afternoon hour darkness has descended and bringing this Christmas Day to a close. So I thought a visit to Grace Cathedral would be nice and Branford is delivering some sweet sounding music! Love it…
Anouar Brahem (Oud), Bechir Selmi (Violin) and Lassad Hosni (Percussion).
Streaming on NAS… taking Anouar’s ‘Barzakh’ out for a spin. The album was his ECM Records debut released in 1991 and this trio is fantastic and the music is sublime! One sweet album…
Today it’s these 3. not listened to PSB for a while and remembering how brilliantly enjoyable they are. A really simple idea done so, so well; can’t wait to see what subject matter grabs their attention next…
Went to see them live, a year or so go, at the De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill-on-Sea which somehow suited them down to the ground (if you don’t know the building then look it up - it’s a truly magnificent bit of deco architecture sitting on the sea edge surveying the horizon like a grand old dame).
