Streaming on TIDAL… going with a mention from @carruthersesq and taking Bon Iver for a spin this morning. Opening track is sounding fine and looking forward to the rest of the album.
I’ve not played this second disc in quite a while these 60s prog rockers fused jazz, rock and blues to good effect and of course the album is now fifty years young.
Bill Frisell - Live at Millenaris Park, Budapest, Hungary 03/29/03
Bill Frisell (electric & acoustic guitar), Greg Leisz (pedal steel & dobro), David Piltch (bass) and Kenny Wollesen (drums).
Streaming on NAS… downloaded this album today from the Bill Frisell website and the opening track is sounding mighty fine and looking forward to the rest of the album. A fine quartet and always enjoy hearing Bill and Greg play their guitars together. There are 26 albums available for download. I have picked up two but will anticipate picking up more as time goes by…
Fairport Convention - Cropredy Capers Vol. 4 - WAV CD rip
From the 2004 Free Reed box-set celebrating the first quarter century of the Cropredy Festival, selected Cropredy performances of the songs the band played most frequently in the first 25 festivals, taken from desk recordings. Fairporters old and then-current and friends, Richard Thompson, Dave Swarbrick, Jerry Donahue, Dave Mattacks, all the versions pulse with energy and fine playing, and moments of the humour and chaos that go with a festival recording. Great fun for any fan of the band, and musically rewarding. As desk recordings the SQ is pretty good.
Joni Mitchell - Hejira - early ‘80s vinyl
My favourite Joni, some of the most beautiful poetry of the 20th century, sung with true feeling, and played superbly.
Traffic - John Barleycorn Must Die - mid-80s vinyl
Folky prog-rock, excellent playing from the three musicians, and fantastic vocals from Steve Winwood.
The Beatles - Abbey Road - 2019 Anniversary vinyl
My favourite Fabs album, which makes it one of my favourite albums ever. Giles and Miles did a great job on this remix.
I’ve been in London for Christmas, this is my first time with the system for over a week I think, and I’ve just realised that without planning it 3 of the 4 albums I’ve played have one of my desert island tracks.
