@Gazza, as you have used the ‘b’ word, I am going to have to check this one out.

Its strangely much better for the lack of the long departed BB King…just great musicians playing with his backing band. I think you will like it…£11.99 high res on Qobuz

Just listened to ‘Irene Irene’ online and if the rest of the album is as good, then I’m off to Qobuz.

Thanks to @Gazza and @johnt for highlighting this one.

Lucinda Williams - This Sweet Old World

Streaming on NAS… kicking off Wednesday morning with Lucinda and this is one sweet album. Twenty-five years between the release of the original ‘Sweet Old World’ and ‘This Sweet Old World’ and both versions are fantastic! Lucinda is one hell of a musician and songwriter…

Antonio Carlos Jobim & Elis Regina - Elis & Tom

I love Brazilian music from this era, and this is my absolute favourite. If you haven’t heard it, do yourself a favour. Elis just about making it through her intense reading of Modinha never feels to move this cynical old bugger.

Hall & Oates - H2O

It’s been a close, warm, sultry day and this fits the bill to be played first. Well recorded with nice SQ and good dynamic range.
