Salvator Mundi, Mark Lockheart & Roger Sayer. This was sampled on Radio 3’s “Record Review” on Saturday. I loved this so much I ordered the CD which came today. I was delighted to find that the shrink-wrap sleeve had been peeled away, for the artists to sign it.
This really is something quite special with a soprano saxophone played against an organ backdrop. Absolutely sublime.
The B.B. King Blues Band - The Soul of the King - Tidal
I’m with everyone else who’s played this, it’s superb, great band, great guests, just blooz.
Lesser known Irish duo Lumiere, they’re now disbanded but released some nice stuff in their day, if you like Cara Dillon you’ll like this a lot, nice recordings too, available on Tidal
Uurgh, proggy nonsense, but Mrs HH seems to like it. Back in the day I quite liked it but listening today it’s dreadful. It’s a nice first pressing with the textured sleeve, though that doesn’t make up for the self indulgent general crapness of the music.
I’m with Mrs HH. A Trick Of The Tail still has magic for me which starts as soon as I hear those distinctive opening notes. ![]()
The more it trudges on the worse it gets. Thank the Lord for punk. It will be over soon.
Stevie Ray Vaughan - The Sky Is Crying, his instrumental cover of “Little Wing” is worth the price of admission alone, imo.
Mrs H has taste ![]()
Well yes, she married me. But it doesn’t make this appalling record any better.
Hurrah! David Gray. Something even worse than Genesis. It puts things into perspective.
Now playing…
Foy Vance - Muscle Shoals
Streaming on TIDAL… A mention earlier by @Jamiewednesday and @Steve_S had me place this in the TIDAL Queue and now taking out for a spin. Foy is sounding mighty fine on the opening track and looking forward to the rest of the album!
