Robert Plant - Digging Deep: Subterranea
Compilation album, compiled as a companion to his podcast series Digging Deep with Robert Plant.
They are tracks from 1964 to 66 so he would have been 23 to 25 at the time. So right at the beginning of his career.
JS Bach, The Well-Tempered Klavier. Sviatoslav Richter, piano. Eurodisc LP
Early morning is my favourite time to listen to Bach. Richter’s virtuosity and poise playing this immortal masterpiece are impressive and the LPs are dead quiet. Wonderful.
“Bach’s Well-Tempered Klavier belongs, in its timeless greatness, to the most significant works of art ever produced by the human hand,” - Lothar Hoffmann-Erbrecht (inner notes)

Steve Hackett - Genesis Revisited Spectral Mornings and Selling England… Live at Hammersmith - WAV CD rip
Hackett playing a superb early Genesis album and probably his best solo album live, I saw the Halifax gig on this tour (2019) this brings back superb memories. It was a fantastic gig and this captures it, seriously fine performances of brilliant prog rock songs.
Bryan Ferry - Let’s Stick Together.
Had been listening to Avalon and fancied a bit more of Ferry’s vocals.
Let’s stick together. The Canned Heat version also a cracker
Lou Reed - New York Deluxe Edition live disc - WAV CD rip
From the recent deluxe box set, recordings taken from various gigs in 1989. Some very faithful to the album versions, others with interesting variations, all very good high energy performances. I wouldn’t take it over the studio, but it’s a really good adjunct. SQ is pretty good, very slight compression, possible from being captured originally on cassette, but the music shines through.
@igahman I like this set. It’s in a hard cover triple foldout album case, you can see it open in the picture I posted when listening to the LPs. The 2 LPs are in the first 2 sections along with a 16 page full LP size booklet with some nice photos, recording information and an interesting 4 page essay on the album by David Fricke. You can see the 3 CDs and the DVD slotted in to the third section in the photo. I’m glad I got it for the LP remaster and the live recordings, and I still have the early version CD and the DVD (previously released on VHS back in the day I believe) to go. It’s well presented and the booklet is old school LP insert with good content, I like it as a set.
Thanks Eoink for that information

@igahman and @Eoink, I also purchased the Lou Reed New York boxset reissue and would echo the comments from Eoink. I also have the original vinyl (which I agree has high SQ) but I think the vinyl reissue is slightly better. With the extras and, as it’s one of my all time favourite albums, personally I feel it was worth the money.
Thought I’d play this gem, having been prompted by @anon41143757 who was playing it last night. This is what he had to say about it:
A never-before-released studio album by Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers recorded at Rudy Van Gelder’s Hackensack, New Jersey studio on March 8, 1959, and featuring the legendary drummer, along with trumpeter Lee Morgan, tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley, pianist Bobby Timmons, and bassist Jymie Merritt. The 6-song set includes 2 previously unissued compositions: “Quick Trick” and “Jimerick.”
