What are you listening to in 2020 and WHY might anyone be interested?

Robert Ellis - The Lights From The Chemical Plant. Although rooted in country music, there is an attractive quirkiness to Robert’s music and his lyrics.

Have no idea why this is in the record collection. Probably parents. Still a fun listen :joy:

Here is a little gem so good it gets a top rating of 5 well deserved stars in Mojo this month.

This is Eddie of Charles & Eddie fame who back in ‘92 had the big hit Would I Lie to You - which might have otherwise put me off but five stars is enough to tweak my attention.

£6.50 on Bandcamp it’s like a long lost Curtis Mayfield/Marvin Gaye album - just sublime.

Robyn Hitchcock And The Egyptians - Element Of Light

I felt like some English whimsy on this tense and humid day in Trumpistan.

Herb Alpert - Rise, the title track alone is worth the admission price.

Cheers I’ll check that out later today. IMO Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield are pretty high bench marks. :+1:

Need some motivating for a full day in the office, the last track on Damien Rice’s O always makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Also another album I would have missed altogether if it wasn’t for this thread.

Ah, maybe Pete. But the nagging doubts are surfacing.

Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… a mention the other day by a member had me place Ian’s ‘Between The Country’ into the queue and now taking out for a spin. Wonderful voice and lyrics and enjoying the music!
