Joni Mitchell - The Archives Volume 1 The Early Years (1963 - 1967)
Disc 1
Only a few tracks in but it is sounding pretty good
I know
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
Had a good day, so suppose I ought to listen to something to bring me down… Not an album I know well.
Now playing…
Silje Nergaard - For You A Thousand Times
Silje Nergaard (Vocals, Loops), Håkon Aase (Violin), Mathias Eick (Trumpet), Audun Erlien (Synth, Bass, Baritone Guitar), Ståle Storløkken (Synth), Johan Yeabsera (Spoken Words), Håkon Kornstad (Saxophone), Sidiki Camara (Percussion, Ngoni), Wetle Holte (Percussion, Drums), Andreas Ulvo (Keyboards), Andreas Ulvo (Fender Rhodes Piano), Hammond Organ), Karla Nergaard Totland (Vocals) and Hallgrim Bratberg (Acoustic Guitar).
Streamed on Qobuz (96/24)… continuing on through the noon hour with Silje and she and the band are sounding mighty sweet! One beautiful album…
Streaming via Qobuz while waiting for my vinyl from Strut records. The time is always right for the Arkestra. Beautifully recorded and great versions of a fair few of the classics.
Seen them many times and always a fantastic show. First gig was outdoors in the plaza Trinidad San Sebastian. Marshall Allen now 96 looked frail then but still blasted out his trademark squalling sax solos.
Thanks John, I missed the announcement. I’ve now ordered it.
Joni Mitchell - Archives 1963-1967 CD 1 - WAV CD rip
Arrived today, fantastic collection of early Joni recordings, this disc is the 20-21 year old Joni Anderson singing folk covers, her voice is glorious, her interpretation fantastic and her guitar playing already complex. I never thought I’d hear Joni sing Molly Malone. I’d buy the box set just to have the 20 year old Joni singing Crow on the Cradle, hairs up on my arms.
