What are you listening to in 2020 and WHY might anyone be interested?

Norma Waterson - The Very Thought of You

A beautiful collection of songs sung with feeling and the gorgeous voice of the grand dame of English folk music, Norma Waterson. Perfectly supported by Richard Thompson, Danny Thompson, Martin Carthy and Eliza Carthy. If you’ve not heard this, do yourself a favour and give it a listen. The SQ is demo quality too.

I love this album. One of the first that I bought when I got my first Naim based system.

Shades Of Blue - Madlib.

Two art forms meet, enabled by Madlib’s alchemical skills.
This and Guru’s Jazzmatazz Vol.1, are two of the very best “fusion” albums of this kind.

A reissue of Nurse With Wound’s (in)famous noise classic Chance Meeting On A Dissecting Table Of A Sewing Machine And An Umbrella. Back in 1979, I nearly bought the limited edition (500 copies, all numbered) United Dairies LP of this, but in the end plumped for a Throbbing Gristle LP; a pity, I would be sitting on a £700 record now…

Smooth, modern pop, recommended by Stuart Maconie in one of the Sundays, I think.
