What are you listening to in 2020 and WHY might anyone be interested?

Good to see you further exploring the magnificent Ketil catalogue. If you have not tried them yet I highly recommend the two albums with David Darling on cello, particularly The River from 1997. Another album I highly recommend for a blissed out 50 minutes is Remembrance with piano, drums and really subtle/tasteful sax from Tore Brunborg who has also played with the very excellent Tord Gustavsen.

Apt for these strange times.

Thanks for the recommendations! That’s why this is my favorite thread, I keep getting introduced to new artists and recommendations for additional albums for others that I am familiar with.

My current collection of Ketil consists of: The Light, A Suite of Poems - Poems by Lars Saaby Christensen, Life in Leipzig, A Passion for John Donne and Grace. I enjoy his music quite a bit and have added ‘The River’ and ‘Remembrance’ to my Qobuz queue for future listening.

I also have a eight of Tord’s albums and enjoy his music as well.

Happy Hour on the Floor is a call to cultivate joy and human connection, an apt reminder since the album drops when social distancing threatens this very idea. Parsonsfield are never smug or self-righteous, and throughout the music is celebratory, and the lyrics are thoughtful. Happy Hour on the Floor is a necessary reminder to find happiness while having a little fun.”
