@Graeme just wondering given your recent post if you have heard their album or extended EP Jar of Flies. It’s pretty much an acoustic album with awesome dynamics.

Equally wonderful is their Unplugged album - great musicians and outstanding production on these acoustic albums.

“First of the day” ?

What are you finding to do, to pass the time during these isolation days, or did you just say “sod it” and have a lie in?

Larry Coryell - The Lift

Larry was surely one of the finest jazz/fusion guitarists, yet sadly it seems he was only known to serious guitar fans. This, one of his last albums, is a fine illustration of just a few of his styles.

Hi @AndyP, no I haven’t heard those albums but I will now have a listen. I’m new to Alice in Chains, and the Dirt album only turned up yesterday. Impressed so far, but always happy to hear acoustic versions. Cheers

Hi Ted,

If you like acoustic guitar, the Windham Hill label (in the late 1980’s IIRC), which had a reputation for very good recordings/repro, had other talented artists in Alex De Grassi and Will Ackerman. You can see their issuances on A. Very good. Back then it was vinyl.

Also worth checking out.

Some of the Windham Hill samplers are great too.

This one is a remastered CD but since I don’t own the original I guess it sounds good to me.

Thank you for your recommendations, I do love acoustic guitar music, my collection of acoustic guitar album’s is very small, I will working on that. I will ad your recommendations to my Qobuz play list.

You were obviously more prepared than I was! I was completely dumbfounded more by the audience reaction than the electrification of the music, it was life changing to me at the time…pretty soon I caught up and considered myself privileged to have been there. I wrote about this for several publications recently, an edited version of which appears under the “Lifetime Albums” thread here on January 8. It’s my favourite Dylan period, although I still purchase everything he releases including “The Big Blue Box”!
