Tricky - Maxinquaye - Qobuz 16/44
Moving through my (25 year late) exploration of Bristol triphop, and on to Tricky. This is superb, deep ominous grooves, challenging lyrics, great music.
Now playing…
Alberto Iglesias - Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Alberto Iglesias (Composer, Conductor), Nicholas Bucknall (Clarinet),
Javier Casado (Piano), Andrew Crowley (Trumpet), Skaila Kanga (Harp), Peter Lale (Viola), Everton Nelson (Orchestra Leader, Violin), Anthony Pleeth (Cello), Mary Scully (Bass), Richard Skinner (Bassoon), Jonathan Snowden|Flute), David Theodore (Oboe) and Leila Ward (Cor Anglais).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… a mention from @AndyP above had me place this in the Qobuz queue and now kicking off this Tuesday morning this soundtrack. The opening track is beautiful and looking forward to the rest of the album!
You know I nearly flagged this up direct to you given your posts here - I thought it might be up your street.
Buddy Guy - Blues Singer.
Buddy goes acoustic, and this just the thing to relax to, whilst the barbecue warms up.
Thank you. The only ones I know in your list are Pat Metheny, Egberto Gismonti and Anouar Brahem so that’s a program.
Claude
Thanks for the recommendation. I love Quatuor Ébène and their approach to classical music, jazz etc. I have yet to hear them with Marie Chilleme replacing Mathieu Herzog at viola, so that might be a good place to start.
Claude
You’re welcome Claude. I would recommended it more for evening listening due to the dominance of the flat keys. They are a class act and I’m looking forward to hearing more from them because they have a sophisticated approach to music. In kindness, DA.
Blodwyn Pig - Ahead Rings Out
Can’t believe I almost forgot about this group until I saw them mentioned in another place. Prog blues jazz all in one place. Fantastic!!
10cc, The Original Soundtrack, CD rip (1997 remaster)
Discogs CD arrived and now ripped ![]()
This album, or rather the lack of, has been a glaring hole in my 10cc collection for too long.
Buddy Guy - the Blues is Alive and Well.
The last of the living legends plugs back in ^^^^^ and does what he does best. ![]()
