Julian “Cannonball” Adderley In The Land Of Hi-Fi. 180g vinyl Analog Corner re-issue.
IMHO an under-rated jazz classic. Somethin’ Else remains his top, but there’s a joie de vivre in this album that I find very hard to resist.

Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… Closing out the day with Tigran and his beautiful ‘Luys i Luso’ album and the music is sublime! This will prepare me for some sweet dreams…
Stemmelklang, Tomba Sonora, 128 DSD download
Headphones on and this is mind blowing.
Recorded with a simple mike setup at the Emanuel Vigeland mausoleum just with vocals and cello… hard to imagine this is vocals sometimes.
Dave Valentin - Pure Imagination -2011 High Note / US CD / HCD 7221
First disc of the day - the superb jazz flute of DV.
Hillary is a prolific songwrite who has written dozens of songs for everyone from Kacey Musgraves, Ryan Bingham through to Steven Tyler and Lady Gaga.
Ok you lot, time to ‘fess up - why had no one told me about Lucinda Williams before! Seriously, this very talented lady has obviously flown under my radar for the last 40 years. It’s costing me a serious bit of wedge to put the omission right, but well worth it. Spent last night downloading about half of her back catalogue from Qobuz, starting the day’s listening off with this early one.
Now that’s a seriously weird image you’ve just conjured up! I’ll have to check if it’s on Spotify for a preview!
Steely Dan - Various
Just playing a few different things from the guys - no time to add all the disc pictures ![]()
Well, there they are, with all of 4 monthly listeners!! I’ve scheduled a darkened room for a listen later today!
I remember buying that from the Mole Jazz shop.
A new name to me with a great selection of covers.
