Ed Wynne | Shimmer Into Nature [2018]
The Ozrics front man going solo and sounding very good, his guitar is front and centre while Ozric style beats and rhythms are behind him and unmistakable. Good stuff.
Kate Rusby will be playing on Folk on Foot in a moment.
Including some fine air accordion.
Just finishing…

Is that one of the Lakeman brothers? Obviously not Seth or Sean, Sam perhaps?
Sam, they’re husband and wife.
Love these husband & wife folk teams - we’ve seen Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman half a dozen times. Never been great fan of Cara Dillon as a solo artist - do they tour as a duo?
I don’t think so, years ago they played together as Polar Star, I think he’s often part of the band, he certainly is on the albums, I don’t think I’ve seen them as a duo.
If you like husband and wife duos it’s certainly worth watching the Folk on Foot Front Room festival HH & I are watching (YouTube), because they’re all playing at home there are musicians who normally play solo working as duos.
Love the Airplane, had most of their catalogue for some time on CD but have just bought the first 6 albums on vinyl. They are the latest vinyl remasters and I have to say I’m impressed. I’ve always thought they came into their own as a live band and am currently listening to Bless it’s Pointed Little Head, it sounds fantastic.
Now playing at Folk on Foot, Johnny Flynn who is cast as Bowie in the forthcoming movie Stardust.
And at 9.20pm UK time Richard Thompson is playing for half an hour.
Dug this out of my singles boxes after seeing @seakayaker’s post
Silje - Tell Me Where You’re Going , her breakout single from '90, also featured is a version with Pat Metheney amongst the four tracks.Bought this blind at the time.
Now playing…
Susanne Abbuehl - April
Susanne Abbuehl (Voice), Wolfert Brederode (Piano, Harmonium, Melodica), Christof May (Clarinet, Bass Clarinet) and Samuel Rohrer (Drums, Percussion).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on this afternoon with the beautiful voice and music from Susanne and this fabulous quartet! One sweet album…
The genius of Richard Thompson, playing live from his house. He’s doing a Fairport song from 50 years ago. Wonderful.
I remember the first time I heard Brazen (Weep) through floorstanders at volume, I’ve never looked back!
If Cropredy Festival hadn’t had to be cancelled this year, the original Full House lineup (with Chris Leslie replacing Dave Swarbrick RIP) were going to play the album live for its 50th anniversary, they’re now confirmed to do the 51st anniversary at Cropredy 2021. (Lineup is Richard Thompson, Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, Dave Mattacks, Chris Leslie.)
