I’m a big fan of Mellencamp - saw him at entertainment centre in mid/late 80’s - he was excellent as was the band

Starting the work day with a bit of 80’s hard rock.

I bought this for the Rodney Mathews album art work never expecting to love their music and regular gig visits.
Sadly lost their way a bit when trying to crack America with Goodnight LA
However the album artwork since Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow is back to Rodney Mathews.

Hate this cover…

11 Tracks Of Whack - Walter Becker.

Donald’s production involvement obviously furthers the Steely Dan feel, and it’s palpable, yet there’s something even darker and more unsettling in some of these songs than in the main band’s catalogue of greatness.

It’s partly in Walter’s snarly voice and mostly in the lyrical themes where there’s true despair here set amongst all the exquisitely played and arranged music.

Found this today, recommend giving it a listen
‘Left-field pop, that incorporates trip-hop, R&B and orchestral’.
Nicely produced

I listen to this quite often and really can’t recommend it enough. It’s very fragile and very beautiful, with a wonderfully real piano sound.

Essential Classics on R3, with Suzy Klein, quietly. And the washing machine. Sun just peeking through thick trees outside.
