In case you love the Polarity Album of the Hoff Ensemble, give this also a serious attention…, highly audiophile and very nice music of course…..

I know, I know! Just hear me out for a moment, before I’m thrown out. I bought this for a laugh a few days ago, and decided to have a listen this evening for some nostalgia. And… oh my word what fun. I’ve never heard any of these songs on an even half decent system, and boy did they know how to produce songs! The sound stage is fabulous and so much going on in almost every track. I’m smiling so much… High brow, certainly not, but is a lot of fun. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

This is such a great album from 1960. These Blue Note Classics are a wonderful series of albums.

I have this on vinyl, @Neil0001 and it sounds terrible. The mastering is just diabolical.

I think that just shows how rubbish what I was listening to these tracks on 38 years ago was. Granted, I am noticing how “bright” it all is…

I shall have to do a comparison with some of the few tracks that I already have.

One of my favourite Chris Rea albums, the other is On the Beach, which I bought when it came out and am still playing 35 years later on the same Rega Planar 3…

Just finished this

The Rolling Stones - Love You Live, it would be nice if they issued an expanded El Mocambo ( Side 3 ) set as part of their From The Vaults series.

Santana - Sacred Fire, this is a bit Santana lite as far as their live stuff goes, but it’s fun to hear Carlos incorporate snatches of other song melodies in his solos.
