Diana Krall - The Girl In The Other Room.
Gave this one it’s annual outing this afternoon.
Love the 2nd track - blows all the dust from the speakers/135s/Me !
Great stuff !
Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots
Inexplicably, a CD that has not been played for a while. The Naims are getting to the heart of the groove. And, it being a day off, a cold San Mig has been broached.
Hybrid | Black Halo | 2021
I’d totally forgotten about their new album until @anon4216120 played it recently. Thanks!
Hi David, no it was more this one.
By a strange co-incidence of life she is actually the auntie of my youngest daughters boyfriend, with Elvis C obviously being the uncle, that was a “what the hell” moment when that was casually announced by my daughter in a "didn’t think it was a big thing, are they that well known…?
Billy Cobham - 1979 B.C.
Because I am feeling disco. I apologize, I know this one is a bit embarrassing.
From A Hundred Miles or More, exquisite Alison Kraus and Brad Paisley.
Whiskey Lullaby, stunning performance.
The Magical World Of The Strands by Michael Head and the Strands
Listening to this album I’m left wondering how anyone can write such beautiful melodies and lyrics.
Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell - Old Yellow Moon
Another Emmylou collaboration, this time with Rodney Crowell, who used to record with her in the Hot Band. This is one spectacular album. If you like the Robert Plant / Alison Krauss collaboration, you really must hear this.
You can get them from Acoustic Sounds in the States, but UK outfits like Rough Trade or Diverse might have some. Or maybe JPC in Germany…
I agree Clive, it’s a sensational album
Did they record another album together after this one ?
Indeed they did, this one (2015):
Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell - The Traveling Kind
Thanks Clive, I’ll track it down
Time for some roots reggae from the sadly short-lived Brit outfit Merger - 1977s Exiles in a Babylon. On original Sun-Star Muzik vinyl.
