Thanks, I will. Trying to pick cool recordings and background stories I was unfamiliar with.
John Potter’s wonderful voice singing songs from the 14th century composer Dufay, with Ambrose Field’s electronic soundscapes. Wonderful, and another for @seakayaker to enjoy. And anyone else of course.
David Bowie - Look at the Moon
Annette Peacock - I’m the one
Both CD
The Sunday’s - Reading,Writing & Arithmetic
McCoy Tyner - Tender Moments
Both Vinyl.
Excellent. I just checked it and it’s well over 750 pages long of references. I do like the Bossa Nova-Tropicalia period, one of the most creative considering the country was in the middle of a dictatorship and quite a few artists ended up exiled in either Europe (London was a favourite hang out in the late sixties) or USA.
Some listening from earlier. Retrospective - The Very Best of E.S.T. I’ve enjoyed this so much, I’m beginning to think I need to get all the individual albums.
What better.
It going to be a loud night tonight
My first ever rock concert,
house lights went down, and in my memory but possibly not in reality silence from the crowd.
then this bloke wanders on and starts to pick out a simple melody and sings
Searching each day for the answers
Watching our hopes disappear.
Set on a course for disaster
Living our lives in fear.
Our leaders leave us in confusion.
For them there’s only one solution
and and then all hell let’s loose, lights, flames and I’ve been a fan of rock music ever since
Gary Moore - Victims of the Future
Moore later dismissed Victims of the Future as "just one of my feeble attempts at heavy rock
Having a sort out in the loft over the weekend and came across this pair of little gems.
I’ve quite a few 45’s still and the SQ on some is really very good.
Cemetery Gates on the B-Side of ASK sounds better than it does on the LP.
@Bobthebuilder Carter USM do a great version of Panic.
The great thing about 45’s is the B-Sides where you can find some real gems.
Cruising’ To The Park - Durand Jones & The Indicators is on the B-Side of Morning in America.
Now playing…
Ambrose Field & John Potter – Being Dufay
John Potter (Tenor) and Ambrose Field (Live Electronics, Studio Electronics).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… joining @anon4489532 and taking John and Ambrose out for a spin! John voice is simply outstanding, a beautiful album…
Really loved this band back in the day
Through A Big Country - Big Country’s Greatest Hits
Lucky enough to see them live on their first tour and they blew the roof off
Thanks for sharing, @anon10403888! Had a listen to that today. Really good album …
