Stevie Wonder

Isn’t he wonderful. Always a fan of his from his youthful days. Sounding superb. Not enough superlatives.

Alabama3 - Last Train To Mashviille.

Acoustic renderings of some of our favourite Alabama3 choons.

Good poke in the ribs from @johnt, not that I need much encouragement to play this stuff, but still, credit where it’s due.

Mr Bender comes from my home town, was in a band with Jim Capaldi at one stage.

Luther is magnificent on the Mott the Hoople live album but shortly after he got the boot in favour of Mick Ronson (which is no great shame) Ian Hunter said despite his great playing when they were writing a song and said to him what guitar lick are you going to play on this he was lost for inspiration. A lesson for us all.

By the way Dennis Greaves is a brilliant guitarist and Nine Below Zero were an amazing live band.

Dennis and Ian (harmonica player?) played our local blues club in the corner of the main bar in the grotty pub we use. Great night.

Dennis opening remark ’ this time last year we was playing the Royal Albert Hall but we’d rather be here arf arf’. They were supporting Squeeze I think.

Mark Feltham?

I saw Mr Bender with Widowmaker, one of the support acts to the Who during the Who Put the Boot In tour in 1976 (first concert I ever attended).

I have this album - but live they must have been something else.

Saw them live in 80. Still vivid memory.

Thx Andy - just checked it was indeed!

I still play this album - brilliant songwriting and the band top of their game. The reissue comes with the original Glyn Johns mix which despite this talents just doesn’t work - the decision to go with another producer worked out well.
