Goldfrapp, the tales of us. Soft and beautiful.
Scintillating spectacular.
Good stuff, Dread!
Also have a listen to VU!
(The album is called VU)
Then get a whole lotta Velvets in one hit with the
Peel Slowly And See CD boxset.
Will do, got Blue Cheer lined up as well.
So far, only one listen each, I’m preferring VU with Nico and White Light White Heat and the Live stuff on the Deluxe Edition, the two latter albums get a bit tame in comparison they might grow though
Edit cheers again @steviebee, now listening to VU
Having listened to the first 4 and this, tbh I dont understand the apparent alienation with the mainstream Rock audience and “inaccesibility”, I haven found any of it to be unduly challenging to listen to, even the more out there material still has a fundamental groove and musicality to it.
Maybe it was at the time, but not to modern ears which perhaps indicates the ahead of their time nature.
Blimey, still cant believe I’ve missed this until now!
Simply Red Fairground - The Remixes / 1995 EastWest / CD Single / EW001CD2
In my view the SR debut LP was the best, but I don’t have that now as it went into another’s stack several years ago. I did keep a copy of the LP Stars which had the wrong label on side 2 (it was Enya!) but I gifted that to a good friend a while back. So playing this in celebration of his birthday, 5 great mixes including In The Garden Mix by Mick himself, and the definitive and excellent Too Precious Mix.
Fleetwood Mac, tango in the night. Was going to play another soft vocal album. But I am so spoilt with choices. Lets play something completely different. Nice.
UB 40 Labour of Love III. CD. 3rd album of cover versions. Forgot I had this.
Yellowjackets Four Corners / 2015 MCA / Japan CD / UCCU90088
Excellent recording as usual from the YJ’s. CD contains the bonus track Indigo not on the LP.
Hi Andy
Time has passed a long time ago, but the music remains
I get the message (Bruford album with Annette Peacock) Seems like a lifetime ago.
Big up @steviebee again!
I’m avin this!
