 well Graham, I am not a massive Hendrix fan but I have to say the tracks hang together as an album ( double ), although the quality imho is patchy. I have always enjoyed “Angel”, “Freedom”, “Night Bird Flying” and “Dolly Dagger” and think they are not out of place on the Experience Hendrix comp, which is where i first heard them. Hearing the four tracks i was intriqued as to where Hendrix might have gone musically, but obviously, we will never know.

All the talk of British Jazz over on the What Was The Last Vinyl You Bought has inspired me to dig out my original 1973 Vertigo copy. It was a little too out there for me at the time but it’s
aged very, very well indeed.

On 8 May 2014, David Bowie and Tony Visconti visited the Birdland club to see the bandleader Maria Schneider perform with her orchestra. The two were, in Visconti’s words, “totally floored by the beauty and power of her music”. I am too…

Gilles on fire this afternoon. Sets from The Comet Is Coming, a great tribute to Elza Soares who has just died and now a brilliant remix of Small Town Boy by Bronski Beat

Lo Moon , bizarrely hasn’t been played for a while and certainly first spin with the Kef Kc62 in the mix, sublime.
