Jackie Leven - The Argyll Cycle Volume One.
John Coltrane - Both Directions at Once
When this came out I was playing it non-stop. Not played for a while, but it’s still a superb discovery.
Just finished remixing a Chris Rea gig from 2014 and at least the SWMBO likes it. He is on fire.
Not for official release.
Just coming towards the end of streaming this wonderful soundscape of an album.
Citadel/Room 315 - Mike Westbrook Orchestra ft. John Surman.

Streaming on Qobuz (88.2/24)…continuing on this Tuesday morning with Matthew and a very talented group of musicians and they are sounding mighty sweet! Love this album… (Noticed that all of his albums are now available in HiRes, in the past this album and a couple of others were not). Life is Sweet!
aha, Memorial Beach CD. 1993. Heavier and Rockier.
“MEMORIAL BEACH was a decidedly darker album than anything a-ha had released up to that point, although the material definitely felt like an organic evolution from the sound of their previous LP. For those who hadn’t been following a-ha’s shift, however, it was probably a tad surprising, if not outright jarring. Indeed, it would not be out of place to say that it was a-ha’s equivalent to ACHTUNG, BABY.”

Antoine Berjeaut - Moving Cities
Antoine Berjeaut (Trumpet), Makaya McCraven (Drums), Julien Lourau (Saxophone), Junius Paul (Bass), Arnaud Roulin (Synthesiser), Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch (Live Electronics, Effects), Guillaume Magne (Guitar) and Matt Gold (Guitar).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/24)… a mention by @krautnaimie over in the ‘London and UK Jazz Scene’ thread had me place in the queue and now taking out for a spin. Antoine and the band are sounding mighty fine on the opening track and looking forward to the rest of the album!
Complete Beethoven Cello sonatas and Variations
Pieter Wispelwey and Dejan Lazić.
Some time back we had tickets to see this live in Eindhoven but the pianist was ill. Very disappointing but instead of cancelling we were treated to the complete suites for cello by Johann Sebastian Bach
@seakayaker I hope you will enjoy it! It‘s real good ensemble. You can hear that they had fun playing together
Ears Hear Spears - Insight (produced by Damu The Fudgemunk).
Great flow, loose and atmospheric production from Damu.
Draws heavily on Killah Priest’s seismic Heavy Mental LP from a decade or two back. Spiritual hip hop.
It is very nice indeed
Raine Hamilton - Brave Land
From the record company’s website:
Resonant, acoustic chamber folk with an otherworldly edge, and a lyric presence that cuts deep. Prism-clear vocals and strings, anchored in the ancient mountains, reaching out beyond the earthly.
Awake. Listening. Present.
SOUNDS LIKE: A string quartet + Sarah Harmer + Joni Mitchell
