Beverly Kenny, three classic albums. A collection of her first three albums.

  • Sings for Johnny Smith (Roost, 1955)
  • Come Swing with Me (Roost, 1956)
  • Sings with Jimmy Jones and The Basie-Ites (Roost, 1957)

Thanks @TheKevster for mentioning Beverly Kenny. Indeed a tragic short life. She left at only 28 years old by her third suicide attempts. Very sad indeed.

Aldous Harding’s new 45, Old Peel
Nicely quirky song from her new album, whenever that happens.

I just love how it veers between melody and noise without quite collapsing into total chaos.

Enjoying the beautiful voice of the late, great Sandy Denny, on what would have been her 75th birthday.

The Qobuz hi def edition is really excellent.

A few years ago I did deep dive (well I was still working then and we loved a deep dive) into British folk(rock) mainly inspired by this book.

Picked up some great albums from the book. This from a Scottish band Caedmon from 1978 but could have been recorded in 1971 - first few notes are a bit hey nonny nonny then in come the guitars.
