Ray Wylie Hubbard - Co-Starring Too

Second best IMO (and by far the best Gilmour solo release).

So, I decided to alight on the “Bl…” section of my record collection. So these evening I can only play LPs by acts beginning with “Bl” – the first I chose was this 1988 double LP compilation by those whimsical 60s popsters The Blossom Toes…

Mary Black - No Frontier

I don’t know why I haven’t played this for quite a while. It has some beautiful songs including The Shadow,

Moon Duo | Stars Are The Light | 2019
To date this is their last release but another is due this year. Soft, almost ambient psychedelic rock. Far less meaty than Ripley Johnson in his Wooden Shjips guise, Sanae Yamada is a softening influence on him. I was really frustrated in having to cancel going to their gig in Edinburgh some years ago in January time. Tricky snow and icy conditions with more forecast made it impossible.

Wooden Shjips | West | 2011
More psychedelic rock infused with that Bay Area sound and Ripley Johnson’s take on it.
