I never was too sure about that album cover!
Guitarra Española, Volume 1
Narcisco Yepes
On CD:-
King Crimson - In The Wake Of Poseidon - 30th Anniversary Edition
That’s on my list to listen to/buy - is it any good - heard reports it’s not too good?
The Soft Machine | The Soft Machine | 1968
A change of tack with another fine fifty something debut album, this time from the Softs who were jazz-rock rather than blues-rock orientated.
Not sure, going to need a few more listens, its quite varied from track to track so may not like it all but hopefully should find a track or two i like. There is an annoying synth buzzy sound effect present on a number of tracks which quickly irks.
Miles Davis - The Cellar Door Sessions, 1970
Playing the last couple of discs from this set, having seen it mentioned by @JimDog on the Last CD bought thread. McLaughlin only appears on the last couple of discs.
The Uprising Roots Band - Skyfiya (Tidal)
Such a great criminally under exposed contemprary Rastafari roots group, great to see this on Tidal
Yes, listening to the 4 nights (e.g. over a period of 4 nights) you hear the band developing as they reimagine the tracks each night.
The final night is an outlier as the guitarist is added into the mix.
Keith Jarrett, Jack DeJohnette et al are there throughout.
Tidal first then to make sure - I still like to have my own copy!
Absolutely superb content and SQ - but then you wouldn’t expect anything but the best from our Germanic cousins.
Great/fun pop album from 1967, with a Brazilian twist. Self titled: Os Canibais
(Mr. Bongo reissue 2012).
Vanster
If only for the last track ‘Carry on regardless’
Even Van manages to laugh at the end - yes Van laughing - Oooo Matron.
The Incredible string band. Hard rope and silken twine.
Final album from my favourite band. 1974.
Cd but also have on vinyl.
Special selection from Cambridge…
