Now playing-
Lunchtime cab session with Sonny Red…
Prompted by posts on the vinyl thread
@Isca_Dumnoniorum dont know if you stream or play CD, both have extra tracks presumably from same or similar session worth hearing to compliment the TP vinyl
Andrew Hill - Passing Ships
On vinyl. Really enjoying this now my ears have adjusted to the expansive sound. Highly recommended for jazzers.
The Police - Outlandos d’ Amour, this still sounds fresh, even after all these years.
Scotch Bonnet Records Presents : Puffer’s Choice Vol. 1 - various artists.
Much reggae / dub goodness from the good folks at Scotch Bonnet and Mungo’s Hi Fi.
Danny Wilson were also superb live. I saw them in Sauchiehall Street (student union, possibly) sometime in the Eighties. The second album is recommended, as is the only recording by Danny W. offshoot King L, if you can find it.
Scotch Bonnet Records Presents : Puffer’s Choice Vol. 2 - various artists.
Vol. 1 has just ended, ^^^^ so, what better way to continue, than with Vol. 2?
More reggae / dub goodness from the good folks at Scotch Bonnet and Mungo’s Hi Fi.
CD ripped to WAV. Beautiful imo
Thanks.
Pretty sure I have the second album on vinyl though never played it much. Must try and find out about King L.
Sonny Red - Out of the Blue
@davidng. The block of flats was one of three towers called the Eve Hill Flats in Dudley. Two were demolished in 1999. Attached image from the local newspaper. There may be some truth in the story that Robert Plant lived there at some time. And…set of Royal Mail classic album stamps. LP spinning now.
